Logo and website design. Built for you, and owned by you.
A logo and a website are how customers recognise your business and find it. Define IPR Solutions designs both, with SEO support, and adds what a design studio usually leaves out: it checks the name and logo against registered trademarks first, and it makes sure the rights in the finished work belong to you.

Ownership in three numbers
What a logo is worth protecting for
-
3
things to own
The domain name, the design files, and the words and pictures on the site.
-
10
years at a time
How long a logo registered as a trademark is protected, renewable without limit.
-
60
years of copyright
Copyright in a logo lasts for the designer's lifetime and 60 years after it.
What can be yours
Why every business needs a website
And why the logo on it deserves as much thought as the pages.
-
Credibility and brand
A professional site tells customers the business is real, and shows what it stands for.
-
Leads
A contact form, a phone number and your services in one place, open at every hour.
-
Organic traffic
Pages built for search bring people who are already looking for what you sell.
-
Time saved on customer service
Addresses, product lists and common questions answered before anyone has to call.
-
Updates and announcements
One place you control for news, offers and changes.
-
A logo people remember
The mark that appears on your products, social media, documents and business cards.
Paying a designer does not by itself make you the owner of the logo. Under Indian copyright law the rights usually stay with the designer until they are assigned to you in writing. See copyright registration.
How it becomes yours
How a logo and website project works
Five stages, from the first conversation to a site that is live and in your name.
-
01 Brief
What the business needs
We ask who your customers are, what the site should do, and which pages it needs.
-
02 Search
Checking the name first
Before any design, we search the name and the logo idea against registered trademarks.
-
03 Design
The logo and the look
Logo concepts, colours and page layouts, revised with you until they are right.
-
04 Build
The site and its SEO
The pages are built to work on phones, load quickly and be understood by search engines.
-
05 Launch
Live, and handed over
The site goes live. You receive the files and the logins, and we can file the logo as a trademark.
Keeping it yours
Who owns what, and how to make sure it is you
Four things businesses often find out too late.
| What | The risk | How to make it yours |
|---|---|---|
| The logo | The designer keeps the copyright unless it is assigned. | A written assignment, and a trademark registration. |
| The domain name | It is registered in the name of the developer or an employee. | Register it in the name of the business, with your own login. |
| Text and photos | Images are taken from the internet without a licence. | Use your own material, or licensed images with the licence kept on file. |
| The brand name | Someone else has already registered it as a trademark. | A trademark search before the design starts. |
Keeping it yours
What you get from Define IPR
-
Design and SEO together
The site is designed with search in mind from the first page.
-
A name checked before design
So you do not pay for a brand you later have to change.
-
Ownership in writing
The rights in the logo and the site are assigned to your business.
-
The trademark filed
The logo and the name registered by the firm that designed them.
What we need from you
- The name of the business, and what it sells.
- Any existing logo, colours or printed material.
- The pages you need, and what each should do.
- Your text and photographs, or an outline for us to work from.
- Access to your domain name and hosting, if you already have them.
- Two or three websites you like, and what you like about them.
One thing to do first
Search the name before you design the logo. A logo built around a name someone else has registered cannot be protected, and may have to be withdrawn.
Trademarks in India are searched and registered through Intellectual Property India.
Before you decide
Logo and website design, answered
Does Define IPR Solutions design websites?
Yes. Alongside its intellectual property work, Define IPR Solutions offers logo design, website design and SEO support, so the brand is designed and protected by one firm.
Why does a business need a website?
A website gives a business credibility, brings in leads, attracts people searching for what it sells, answers common questions without a phone call, and gives it one place to post updates.
Who owns a logo that a designer makes for me?
Under the Copyright Act, 1957, the designer is usually the first owner of the copyright in a logo. Ownership passes to you only through a written assignment signed by the designer.
Can I register my logo as a trademark?
Yes. A logo can be registered as a device mark, and the name can be registered as a word mark. Registration lasts ten years and can be renewed without limit.
Does owning the domain name protect my brand?
No. A domain name only reserves a web address. It does not stop another business using the same name for its products. A trademark does.
What is SEO?
Search engine optimisation is the work of making a website easy for search engines to read and rank: clear page titles, fast loading, useful content and a structure that makes sense.
How much does a logo or a website cost?
It depends on the number of pages and what the site needs to do. We quote after a free consultation, before you commit to anything.
