Trademarks are the foundation of a company's branding and reputation. Trademarks build trust with customers and enable companies to build a loyal customer base and increase corporate value.
Trademarks are a branch of intellectual property rights. Intellectual property rights allow people to retain ownership of innovative products and creative activities. Because intellectual property is the result of human effort, it is limited by various registration and infringement fees.
Use of trademarks prevents unauthorized use of a company's or individual's products or services by others. We also prohibit trademarks that may be confused with existing trademarks. This means that you may not use a symbol or brand name if it looks, sounds, or has a similar meaning to something already in the book, especially when products or services are involved.
Any person who claims to be the owner of the marks or intends to use them in the future can apply in writing to the responsible registrar according to the prescribed procedure. The application must contain the names of goods, trademarks and services, the category of goods and services to which they belong, the name and address of the applicant and the period of use of the trademark. As used herein, person means an association of corporations, partnerships, corporations, trusts, state governments, or national governments.
